Report on National Librarian’s Day Celebration

The National Librarian’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Kumarghat Sub-Divisional Public Library, Fatikroy. The program was presided over by Sri Satyabrata Pal, Principal of Ideal English Medium School, Fatikroy. Sri Gobinda Dhar, a popular poet and educationist, attended the program as the special guest. The event was graced by the presence of students from various schools and Ambedkar College.
Sri Supriyo Deb, Librarian at Ambedkar College and In-charge of Kumarghat Sub-Divisional Public Library, warmly welcomed the guests, students, and all present. In his inaugural speech, he highlighted the importance of National Librarian’s Day and gave a brief introduction about Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the pioneer of the library movement in India.
The special guest, Sri Gobinda Dhar, delivered an inspiring address on the historical background of Fatikroy in the context of library development. He encouraged students to develop a strong reading habit for gaining knowledge, building successful careers, and sharing wisdom within society to enrich the community.
The president of the program, Sri Satyabrata Pal, in his valuable speech, emphasized the usage and significance of libraries among students. He spoke on cultivating reading habits as a pathway to becoming good writers, poets, and literary figures, as well as responsible and enlightened human beings.
The program concluded with his motivational words, leaving the audience inspired to make reading an integral part of their lives.
At last I would like to thank everyone present at the program, especially Mr. V. Darlong, for his tremendous efforts and excellent arrangements that contributed to the great success of the event.
